I haven't logged in here in awhile...

Perhaps some of you didn't even notice and that's o.k. with me. I don't strive for attention. Needless to say, I'll be frequenting this site more often. I've bought a few dvds and cds from Amazon over the past month or so.(some of them are pre-orders as well) Here's a partial list: "Black Torment" (old RF) "Dracula's Fiancee" (new RF) "Frozen Alive" (Obituary live dvd) "Neither the Sea Nor the Sand" (old RF) "Prey" (new RF) "Shiver of the Vampire" (old RF) Suffocation "Blood Oath" "The Stendhal Syndrome (2 dvd-BU) "Torso" (BU) I haven't bought anything from the store in months. It's much cheaper in my opinion to shop online. With the economy in the shitter, I try to buy cds and dvds used when I can.

Judas Priest/Whitesnake gig 7-1-09

I went to this gig and I arrived at the venue around 3 p.m. with the hopes of meeting some band members before the gig with no luck. During this time, a lady who had baked cookies for Priest tried to go back by the buses (the area was fenced off btw) but was unsuccessful and shared the cookies with myself and others who had been waiting. However after the gig, I was able to meet all the members of Priest except for Halford and they all signed my "Screaming For Vengeance" and "Painkiller" cd. They're very cool blokes! I wasn't able to meet anyone from Whitesnake. Doors opened at 6:30, show at 7:30. I had nosebleed seats and the floor was covered with chairs. There was no moshpit. Both bands were great! Whitesnake played for an hour and Priest played for almost 2 hours. During changeover, I ran into a guy who was willing to part with an unused ticket. He wanted face value ($67) but I offered him $20 and he accepted. So that got me 7th row center for Priest. I took some pics of the gig but the Whitesnake pics aren't very good because I was too far from the stage at that point. The setlist for Priest, along with pics and a video clip from YouTube from the gig are posted below. The vid clip is not from me. This is their "British Steel" anniversary tour, so they played that album in full. Rapid Fire, Metal Gods, Breaking The Law, Grinder, United, You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise, Living After Midnight, The Rage, Steeler, The Ripper, Prophecy, Rock Hard Ride Free, Victim Of Changes, Freewheel Burning, Diamonds And Rust, and You've Got Another Thing Comin'

Dimmu Borgir Info

If you viewed my prior Dimmu post you may notice that the song is sung in Norwegian. For those of you who aren't familiar with this band, they're from Norway and their first two albums("For All Tid" and "Stormblåst")are sung in Norwegian. They started singing in English with the release of "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant". However, they have since re-recorded their first two albums in English. I like all of their albums through "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia"(P.E.M. is marginal at best in my opinion)and I don't care for their albums which have proceeded "P.E.M." Here's a song in English for you.

Dimmu Borgir "Stormblåst"

I've seen this band and was able to meet them as well. HAGLVÆR Å DET VIKINGS!!!

Sinister "Leviathan"

Crematory "For Love"

Tiamat "Whatever That Hurts"

Moonspell "Lusitanian Metal" dvd trailer

Enjoy. :)

Moonspell "Abysmo"

I was really hoping that they would play near my town on their upcoming U.S. tour but it's not meant to be. I hope they will tour near my town in the future. Until then, their new dvd entitled "Lusitanian Metal" will have to do. It's a great dvd by the way!!! The trailer to follow.

Pantera "Cowboys from Hell"

I miss this band. I thought they were great and I've seen them several times. Their music will be missed.

My Jess Franco dvd collection thus far...

"Fulci Frenzy"

Severin is going to release two Fulci flicks ("The Psychic" and "Perversion")in a box set entitled "Fulci Frenzi". The U.S. release date is slated for June 30, 2009. Amazon has set the preorder price at $26.99 for this set.

"The Reincarnation of Isabel" (1973)

This flick is strange in that it's incoherent with no plot and it constantly shifts from present to past and vice versa. Apparently Isabel was burned at the stake years ago and now keeps getting reincarnated only to have flashbacks of her past. This movie is a complete mind fuck but it's one of my favorite Euro Horror flicks because it doesn't follow a pattern whatsoever!

My Mya Communication dvd collection thus far:

I've also preordered "Ubalda, All Naked and Warm".

My Mondo Macabro dvd collection thus far:

My Shriek Show Box Sets thus far:

I love these box sets! They're so cheap too! I didn't pay anymore then $20 per for any of them. I also had the "Wicked Women" set but I threw the box away and kept the dvds. (dumb move on my part)

My Redemption Films dvd collection thus far: (reissues)

As you may already know, Redemption Films started to slowly reissue their catalog in the U.S. in 2007. I've also preordered "Prey" and Dracula's Fiancee". The only thing I don't like about these reissues is the absence of the intros contained in the originals. Those intros are great! Also, "Black Magic Rites" is also the same film as "Reincarnation of Isabel".

Also, now that I own a digital camera...

I'm going to try and include a couple stills from flicks that I do short writeups on. I'm not sure about the pic quality but I'll give it a go. Keep in mind, I will be taking pics of the t.v. screen. If it looks decent, I'll include them.

Thank you for your comments regarding my collection posts yesterday

I'll probably post more of my collection in the future. I was thinking that I may post some of the titles I own by label from now on..i.e. AB, BU, Shriek Show, Mondo Macabro, Redemption...etc. I'll probably resume with my Redemption re-releases. I have more titles from the reissues then the originals.

...and just for grins:another pic of Cristina and I

This pic was from yet another gig sometime in 2003. Lacuna Coil were not well known at this time.

Some of my old Redemption Films dvds:

Some of my Fulci dvds:

Some of my Argento dvds:

I recently aquired a digital camera so I'm going to share some of my dvd collection with you. In case you are wondering, my new profile pic is of Cristina Scabbia(Lacuna Coil vocalist) prior to a gig in 2003.

Six Feet Under "4:20"

TOKE IT UP!!! The nun pictured in in this post has nothing to do with SFU. It's a cool pic. We all have our vices!!!

Six Feet Under "Silent Violence"

Six Feet Under "The Enemy Inside"

After his split with Cannibal Corpse, Chris formed Six Feet Under. They're still active to this day.

"Hammer Smashed Face"

Chris Barnes is one of my favorite Death Metal vocalists. He's no longer in Cannibal Corpse.

Amaran "Little Victory"

This band disbanded in 2005.

Anneke van Giersbergen Tribute vid

The Gathering "Leaves"

Anneke is no longer in the band.

CHEESY PIZZA AND CHEEZY MOVIE (new blog)

Please take the time and visit my friend's new Blogspot page. He provides great insight to Horror, Cult, Exploitation films...etc. The link to his page is posted below. Thanks. CHEESY PIZZA AND CHEEZY MOVIE

"House of Mortal Sin" a.k.a. "The Confessional" (1976)

Being that I already own several Pete Walker flicks, I decided to give this one a go and ordered it off Amazon tonight. Some tout this as his masterpiece. Although, I consider "House of Whipcord" to be his crowning achievement from what I've seen from his work thus far.

Nightwish "She is My Sin"

For those unfamiliar with Nightwish, Tarja is no longer in the band but her voice is amazing!!!

Blind Guardian "Mirror Mirror"

Scary Bitches

I found an official video for Scary Bitches. For those whom are not familiar with this band, they hail from the U.K. and have released two albums thus far: "Lesbian Vampyres From Outer Space" and "Creepy Crawlies" respectively. The subject matter found within their compositions are quite comical and may be offensive to some people but I enjoy them and I own both of their albums. Cheers! :)

"The Devil's Nightmare" (1971)

A wicked flick regarding a beautiful woman who seduces her victims based on the seven deadly sins. Is she really a woman or a succubus laced with infinite beauty that feeds her lust to kill?

Sacred Flesh (2000)

This slice of Nunsploitation arrived in the mail this weekend. It looks cool but I haven't had time to watch it yet. Opinions? Thanks.
